Golden Quadrilateral Ride in 146 hours covered 6050 Kms - SOLO RIDE

Hello everyone! Greeting to fellow bikers and pillion riders.

Day 1: Bangalore – Kolkata (Around 2100KM)

Bike Starting Meter with date & Time
I started ride from AECS Layout, Bangalore on 12th Aug 2016 at 06:15 in morning. Today’s ride is very comfortable and I reached Chennai at 11:15 AM and out from there at 11:45 AM due to traffic. Now, next target that I set according to the time is KOLKATA, yes KOLKATA and without sleep. I know it’s going to be very hard but if I did then my next days will be more comfortable. After crossing VIZAG at 02:15AM on 13th Aug, I took dinner and continue my ride to KOLKATA. Ride is going very well and machine is behaving awesome. We are talking to each other time to time. I know it sounds MAD but it’s true and according to me, if you are driving SOLO then this is the only way to drive and not getting bored.

Day is very hot and I reached Bhuvneshwar on time.

Security concern:
Me and my machine was riding very well and I crossed the Cuttack and ride going towards the Kolkata.
Once, I was crossing Bhadrak which is on the way to Kolkata, few bikers started following me. Initially, I was ignoring them as this happened number of time because me and my bike dressed up like that which people wants to see. But this time not that type they were 3 people on two bikes and suddenly I saw that one SUV also started following me. I increased my speed to 110Km/hr, now only SUV can follow me and same happened as well. And the area is very quiet and I was trying to reach early in a populated area as soon as possible. Once, I reached they also slowed down then I started sharing my location to one of my friend because now I don’t want to take any risk and to get myself motivated, I put one friend on call for next 45 minutes and I started driving hard – almost 110 to 120 Km/Hr, as day is very hot and speed also high, my bike was putting full effort and that I can feel by her sound. But we both know we need to get out from there as soon as possible. And finally after Balasore, good road came and now no one was there  following us. ALL was WELL.

Mobile Stucked:
Finally, on 13th Ayg 2016 at 05:30 PM, I reached KOLKATA. Now, it’s time to search the hotel. My mobile battery is at 5%, then I stopped my bike and connect it to the power bank but suddenly my mobile got SWITCH OFF and no response is giving, I parked my bike in TRUCK BAY lane and wait for 30 minutes but still mobile not up. I was thinking what next I need to do, as mobile is very urgent for me to give update at home especially and then for MAP as well. Then, I visit one mobile shop and explain my mobile issue but they told me you need to contact service center. Now, its time to purchase a new mobile and I bought Nokia because it much more reliable the any smart phone.

It’s time to sleep: After 35hrs drive.
Then start searching hotel and I found one hotel – Olympus but the manager was very rude , anyway I took that one and took bath which gave me very relaxing feel and after dinner go for sleep and set my alarms to 4:30 AM.

Day 2: Kolkata – Varanasi (Around 700KM)

Yesterday my mobile got stucked but I putted it on full night charging and now it’s up which gave me better feeling, as yesterday night I was feeling very bad because I was supposing that if I stuck anywhere then the only way tout there is My Mobile. Anyway all is well.

I woke up early and start my ride from hotel at 6:15 AM on 14th Au 2016 and my target was reached Delhi at 08:00 AM on 15th Aug and according that I started my ride after getting GOOD breakfast in hotel. Ride is going to relaxing way and I am feeling very good today. Highway was very good, especially greenery wise. I crossed the West Bengal and entered into Jharkhand, no rain everything was going good.

Most Scary Day:
Once I entered in Bihar, rain got started and it was very heavy rain. I felt that my helmet visor may be broken down due to rain as it’s very heavy. It’s around 5:00 PM and very less visibility due to rain, but I continue my ride and around 6:00PM, I decided that I need to stop my bike as I am not able to see anything and road condition is worst. This is only the worst road that I faced on my full ride.
Then parked my bike where environment looks good, as one Car and few trucks are also parked their and one small shop also open. Although, only one shop.
I was doing commutation with shopkeeper and suddenly heard a voice – DHADAM. The parked car hit my bike from the front. Me and shopkeeper try to get up bike, again that car hit bike while we were trying to get up. I ask the car driver – “What are you doing man?” But he just looked my face and not answered my question.
Shopkeeper ask me about my trip and he suggested me that – “Try to get out from the BIHAR as soon as possible, as in Bihar flood happened in these day and here people can do anything with few bucks only”.
But here problem is for me is that how I can drive in heavy rain as there is no visibility and there are lots of holes on the road and I can’t imagine which hole is big or small. Anyway I started my ride and get out from the BIHAR safely. Thanks to that guy.

Unplanned Stop:
As I faced lots of rain in Bihar due to which I felt wet although I put my rain coat but rain was too heavy due to which water entered in side. Then,  I decide that take a night stop at Varanasi. I entered in Varanasi via Mugalsarai where I faced lots of traffic and very rude people are roaming on the road as well.

Finally, I found one good hotel in Varanasi – Adatiya Inn. Took bath and diner, go for sleep.

Day 3: Varanasi -  Delhi (Around 800KM)

I started my ride at 06:00 AM on 15th Aug 2016 and I found lots of traffic which started from Varanasi outer till Allahabad due to route diversion. Only one side was opened of the highway which became 2lane highway.

Longest Ride In Rain:
Once I crossed the Allahabad, rain started but I need to continue my ride as rain is not too heavy. I ride around 350 KM in rain. Rain stopped after Etawah. Highway is very good and ride is going in very smooth way although I was feeling little cramps in back but I continue my ride.

I entered around 4:15 on Agra expressway and took some photos on the expressway and called to MOM and told, I’ll reach Delhi before 7:00PM. All are very happy what I am doing.

Then, I reached Delhi at 6:30PM and as I stay in Delhi for almost 5 year so some emotional feeling came. And I reached my room where currently my two younger brothers are staying. Had a good chat with my brother and while we were talking and laughing a lot I realized that I laugh in such a way after almost one year. Really friend number of feeling I felt in Delhi like I sleep comfortably after almost one year, I meet people after one year. Why one year because I left Delhi before one year only.

Day 4: Delhi – Bangalore (Around 2400KM)

Yes, this is finally day and I set target for myself that I need to ride Delhi to Bangalore without sleep. I know this is very crazy target but at least I can touch Pune without sleep and after that I’ll decide once I reached Pune.

Bike Stucked Down:
Day is very hot while I was crossing Rajasthan and my bike Chain socket gone and I need tight up my chain time to time which is very consuming task. After crossing Udaipur, I felt odd sound from my bike then I stop and check sound and everything properly. And I found one bolt is lose which might be when I did last chain tight. I get off my tools and tight all four bots and suddenly I saw that my MOBILE OIL is around minimum then stop my bike one of the petrol pump and bought one MOBILE oil and refuel half and now everything is fine. Ride is going on very well but now I need to manage my speed from 80-95 Km/hr maximum as Chain socket already gone and I was doing the same as well.

I was continuously talking with my bike and myself…I was crossing multiple cities and states. People communicating me and they surprised and gave best wishes which encouraged my for riding.
Finally, I crossed the Mumbai from the outer road.

Fine (Chalaan):
While I was crossing Thane then Navi Mumbai, I need to take fuel and I was looking for that only. By mistake I took Mumbai - Pune expressway on which bikes are not allowed. Although I asked for petrol pump to few people at toll booth and suddenly I saw in my mirror that two policeman were trying to chasing me. I stopped my bike and they told me that bikes are not allowed on the expressway. I said nobody told me about that even I had chat with a guy at Toll both but why he not informed me about this. Then they you need to came with us and fill fine in police station and fine were Rs. 2000. I went with them and fill Rs. 200 as fine and they gave me receipt of Rs.100. Anyway it doesn’t matter for me, I just need to get out from here.

Now I continue my ride from OLD Mumbai – Pune road and I feeling hungry, as today I haven’t took breakfast. After 1 hr around 01:00 PM, grab some Choco and dry fruits from my bag, felt good after ate that.

Around 5:30PM crossed Pune and moving forwards to Bangalore and I was riding from last 36Hrs without sleep.

Now I am taking stops after every 75-90 Kms and I need to ride Bangalore without sleep, it just to set a new record for me. I know it’s risky but I am taking proper precautions for that like time to time took team stops.

Bike Meter With
Date & Time

FINALLY I RIDE 53 HRS WITHOUT SLEEP, AT 08:15 AM ON 18th August 2016, I REACHED AT NELMANGALA WHICH I SET IT AS MY DESTINATION POINT.

Conclusion:
This was not just a bike ride and this was something much more than that where people comment or like your photos/check-ins which encouraged me for ride and where every family member is waiting for next update via check-in. I was trying to check-in time to time just to update my family and friends. Riding SOLO is not a risky till when you are not thinking about that. I always communicate with my bike and appreciate his performance. I gave name to him as well – CHETAK.

Thanks,
KK

Around 0230 AM, I feel little sleepy and not able to find any tea shop on highway. Finally got one Thela and decided to take rest on bike. Took 2 cups of tea and put my bike on center stand and took rest around 20 minutes.
